openpli 4.0 xp1000 changemac fails eth0

hello guys..

i got a cloud ibox 2 its a xp1000 clone and it comes preloaded with openpli 4.0

I tried to change the mac of eth0 with ifconfig eth0 down

then then hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55

then ifconfig eth0 up 

and the box just wont let me log into ssh or ftp again. I did a script at boot too and same thing happens.

If i try to use a usb wifi adapter i can actually see the mac change and start up the eth0 with the up command but the card will not work..

Any advice?
