Hide files in mediaplayer

Hi folks,

Is there a way to hide certain filetypes within the mediaplayer? 

When I access folders on my NAS, I see files like 

.AppleDouble

.DS_Store

._FILENAME

that have been created by my Mac but have no use in the mediaplayer.
